The Biggest News Ever.

Truly the biggest and best news to ever grace Gerald & Joan.

Truly the biggest and best news to ever grace Gerald & Joan.

This blog has documented many family photos and memories over the past two years. Funny enough, I started sharing family stories on the blog before I really considered that I was archiving our history for the next generation. Later this year, the next generation arrives.

We have prayed for this for almost two years. There were moments where I wondered if it would ever happen and why it hadn't happened yet. The truth is that God is in control, and we're just along for the ride.

Fun facts: God willing, our baby will share a birth month (due date is 9/7) with his or her great-grandmother Joan (her birthday was 9/10) and his or her Aunt Lauren (birthday is 9/24), whose own baby is due to arrive two months to the day before our baby. Our baby came into existence in our favorite month and the month of our marriage. We learned of baby's existence on January 4. After a rocky start to 2014, we couldn't have asked for a better start to 2015.

I've experienced the usual exhaustion and nausea over the past few weeks, which is why the blog posts have slowed down considerably since January. Once my energy returns, I'll share the projects I have been working on since the new year began. I also have lots of ideas for new wedding suites, and I plan to add some baby-related design items as well.

Until then, thank you for your love and support, and please keep our family and our babies in your prayers.

And just for fun, here are a few photos of us way back when...

Little Sister

One of my very first memories took place on September 24, 1986. I was one month away from my third birthday when my little sister Lauren Victoria came into the world. I remember so many details of that day including getting ready to go to the hospital to meet her for the first time and receiving the Little Tikes car that she brought just for me. That car is now in our attic, patiently awaiting the arrival of the next generation of crazy drivers. On July 7 of this year, Lauren and her husband Chris will welcome their first child and my nephew, Hudson Glenn. I recently made Hudson's first photo album for his gender reveal party, and these photos were some of the many that made the cut. We are very excited about Baby Hudson's arrival this summer.

Vintage Image of the Day: 31

Throughout the month of January, we are scanning and sharing a vintage film slide each day. This week we are sharing vacation photos from California in the 1960s.

Today includes our month of scanning and sharing vintage film slides. It was an interesting and slightly exhausting project. Now that I can see a month's worth of images on my computer, I have decided that film slides have the richest colors. Our digital world just can't compare.
