We love pretty postcards, so it seemed fitting that we create a series of simple postcards that honors one of our very favorite motifs -- the palm tree. There are few things more Californian to us than a palm tree, and as they don't grow anywhere near our Tennessee home, we take LOTS of pictures of them when we travel to the L.A. area. These photos were taken by us on several different trips, and we love the sunny feelings they evoke. We hope you like them as much as we do. They are available in the shop now!

These were handed down from Joan and are a part of our personal collection. However, we would be happy to help you find a few that would be perfect for your mom!
3. Jewelry: Women love jewelry. If you can't afford diamonds, consider a colorful vintage piece. We love brooches, beads, enamel and fun earrings. Oh, and Bakelite. Any of these pieces are perfect for summertime.

This collection has been years in the making. Heck, in some ways it feels like we've been working toward it our entire lives.

The launch of this collection makes this little business legitimate (we hope) and gives us purpose. We hope you'll follow along as we find our way. On the road with Gerald & Joan
Since it's clear our travel posts are going to be the norm for a while (must be this dismal weather that has us in the mood for warmer locales!), we've decided to give them a name -- On the road with Gerald & Joan! This week we're headed back to Southern California and the South Bay area to hang out in Manhattan Beach. When people tell us they dislike California, we know they haven't been to Manhattan. It is So Cal at its best -- beautiful beaches, quaint shops and awesome food. It's also the volleyball capital of the world, so you can work off those nachos or pancakes and stay out of the cold water! If you aren't into volleyball or surfing, you can also rent bikes or just take a walk on the beach or the Strand. When you're in Manhattan Beach, you want to be outside, and walking is pure joy. Manhattan is that sort of place that gets into your system pretty quickly. Before you know it, you're donning your flip flops, sunglasses and hoodies just like the locals, and you don't ever want to leave.
