Vintage Cars in Germantown

Today we're sharing more drool-worthy antique cars from last month's Germantown Car Show. As you can see, the wide range of makes and models was quite impressive. Of all of the gems, I was partial to the Chrysler Woody. It's about as high-maintenance as you can get, but the details were incredible. The very relaxed (and well behaved) poodle also stole my heart. Which vintage car is your favorite?

family photos: great-grandmothers

It's a day for beautiful, turn-of-the-century photographs of our families. The top photo is Jonathan's great-grandmother Eliza (back left) and her sisters. The middle photo is my great-grandmother Tina and her family. She is front and center. The bottom photo is my other great-grandmother Elsie and her sister Myrtle. Eliza's family lived in Prentiss County, Mississippi, Tina's family lived in Naples, Italy and Elsie's family lived in Lancaster, Ohio. The time period would be about the same for all of them. What would they have thought if they had known they would be linked together someday?

Pray for Mississippi

Today we pray for our home state of Mississippi and our many Tupelo friends. Growing up, Tupelo was our weekend escape. It is heartbreaking to see it, as well as so many other towns across the South, ripped to shreds by yet another devastating storm system. We are reminded once again to cherish every moment. Life is fleeting.

If you would like to help support the tornado relief effort, here are some organizations that are accepting donations.

The Heritage Photography Collection

Just in time for Mother's Day, Gerald & Joan is excited to introduce the Heritage Photography Collection.

Our favorite sizes are 4x6, 5x5 and 5x7, but custom photo sizes and packages (of two images or one hundred!) are also available.
